As we move into our new Evergreen system, we’re going to need a lot of sample searches to use for testing, training and help page examples. We all tend to fall into the pattern of using the same few searches over and over again, which is not only boring, it’s also not a particularly good way to test out the various features of a search engine. We hope you’ll help by contributing some sample catalog searches that we can use in various ways.
We want a range of searches, representing all the real-life situations you might come across while searching the catalog yourself or assisting your library users. These searches can be just a few words or phrases, or a longer scenario. We hope we’ll see examples from lots of different areas including Children’s and Teen Services, music, local history and other special areas! Try not to be too influenced by things you know the Evergreen catalog does or doesn’t do…some of the “impossible” ones could become development items.
