MassLNC-Sponsored Development in Upcoming Evergreen Releases

Evergreen 2.3

  • ACQUISITIONS: EDI Invoicing – Electronic invoicing is now available in acquisitions. Sponsored through a development partnership among Bibliomation, MassLNC, SC LENDS, and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: Enriched EDI – There is now support for Enriched EDI with copy-level data being sent with EDI order messages. Sponsored through a development partnership among Bibliomation, MassLNC, SC LENDS, and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: Improvements to Invoicing Workflow – Invoices now have a second tab where staff can add titles from multiple POs to the invoice. The invoice interface now autopopulates some fields so that users do not need to manually enter known data.
  • CATALOG: Add to permanent list – Logged-in users now have the ability to add a title directly to a list from the search results or record summary screens. Users will also now receive a warning when they add titles to a temporary book list letting them know that the list will disappear when the search session is complete.
  • CATALOG: Library selector on advanced search interfaces – A library selector for scoping is now available on the numeric and expert search tabs.
  • HOLDS: Simplified pull list – Allows staff to control which fields display in the printed pull list. It also improves workflow, particularly for libraries with long pull lists, because, if you print through the simplified view, you no longer need to fetch all holds before printing the pull list.

Evergreen 2.4

  • ACQUISITIONS: Default Number of Copies – Staff will be able to identify the default number of copies that should be ordered for a given provider. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: Order record upload form persistence – Settings are now available to identify default values for most fields on the Order record upload form. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • HOLDS: New configuration options for identifying how the system should fill holds – Evergreen sites will now have more options for identifying how the system should fill holds. For example, a consortium could choose to always prioritize holds that are being picked up at the owning library or could choose to send titles home after it has circulated at another library for x number of months. Bibliomation was the lead sponsor for this project. MassLNC also contributed along with HSLC and Sage Library System.

Beyond Evergreen 2.4

  • ACQUISITIONS: Ability to update copy information and view copy details directly from the PO – Minimizes the amount of time staff is required to access the acquisitions copies screen by 1) allowing staff to make batch updates to copies directly from the PO screen and 2) allowing staff to display an expanded view of lineitems by clicking an “Expand” link. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: ISBN Selectors – Allows staff to pick the relevant ISBN, UPC, etc. that should be used when placing an order through acquisitions. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: Pre-Populated Invoice Fields – Pre-populates fields on the invoice to minimize data entry for staff. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • ACQUISITIONS: Expansion of Distribution Formulas – Expands Distribution Formulas to include fund code and circ modifiers so that formulas can serve as true templates. Sponsored through a development partnership with MassLNC and SITKA.
  • CATALOG: Alphabetical Author, Title, Subject Browse – Provides alphabetical browse interface in the catalog with support for using “See” and “See Also” references. Sponsored through a development partnership between MassLNC and Bibliomation.
  • CATALOG: Support for Traditional Boolean Search Operators – Provides an interface where searchers can use traditional Boolean search operators.
  • CATALOG: Activity Metric to Improve Relevance of Search Results – Allows activity the activity or popularity of a title to increase its relevance in the retrieval of search results.
