Evergreen provides a few different options for adding staff visible pop-up messages to patron records. The Patron Alert Message and Message Policy defines how the various pop-up message options in Evergreen should be used. The screenshots below show where the messages are maintained, and in which libraries they are visible.
Yellow Alert message
Yellow alerts are maintained in the Patron Edit screen
Yellow Alerts are visible at all libraries as a pop up when the patron record is retrieved. They are also visible at all times in the patron summary
Alert Message
Alert messages are maintained in the Messages area of the patron record
Alert messages are visible at all libraries when the patron record is retrieved
Library Alert Message
Library Alert messages are maintained in the Messages area of the patron record
Library Alert messages are visible at all branches of a library when added at any branch
Local Alert Message
Local (or Branch) alert messages are maintained in the Messages area of the patron record.
Local Alerts are visible only at the library branch where it was added.
