Copy Notes

Each copy record can have one or more notes. Notes are informational, do not pop-up or place any role in circulation, and can either be private (which is the default) or public, in which case they can (theoretically) be displayed to the public in the catalog.

You can add or delete copy notes by clicking on the Copy Notes button at the bottom of the Edit Item Attributes or Unified Editor windows.

When you click on this button, you get a pop-up window which will show any existing notes and have an Add Note button.

Clicking on Add Note brings up a window where you can add the note. There’s a checkbox to make the note public, a title and a box for the text of the note. It’s a good idea to use a set of standard titles for notes, like Gift, Alumni Note, Cataloging Note, etc. There is also a required fields for your initials. Click on Add Note to save the note.

The display of the copy note shows the date and time that the note was added and the initials of the person who entered it. There is a button to delete the note, but no button to edit the note. (If you need to edit the note, you’ll have to delete and re-enter it.)

If there are multiple notes on a copy, they will all be displayed in a single window.
