Digital Bookmobile coming to Beverly Public Library!

As part of its national tour, the Digital Bookmobile, will be visiting at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street, Beverly on Monday September 14, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Readers of all ages are invited to explore digital downloading through interactive demonstrations and experience the North Of Boston Library Exchange’s (NOBLE) audiobook download service at this free event. NOBLE library card holders can also check out and download digital titles any time, anywhere by visiting the NOBLE Digital Catalog.

The Digital Bookmobile is housed inside 74-foot tractor-trailer and is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players, all of which help visitors explore NOBLE’s download service. While NOBLE’s collection only includes audiobooks at this time, the interactive learning stations give visitors an opportunity to sample eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video, as well as search the library’s digital media collection, and use supported mobile devices. Read more about it.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn more about this popular audiobook service. Bring your mobile devices and start downloading!

Library Notices by E-Mail

E-mailGo green, save your library the cost of printing and postage, and get your library notices by e-mail! If we have your e-mail address in your library record, notices will be sent to you by e-mail rather than on paper. This includes our new courtesy notices, which are reminders sent two days before your items are due.

If you want to receive notices by e-mail, please make sure we have your current address. You can check this by logging in to your library account, where you can view, add, remove or change the e-mail address in your record. You can also have the library staff check this for you.

Unfortunately, we cannot currently turn on courtesy notices for some users and not others. If you prefer not to receive courtesy notices, you may be able to filter these messages in your e-mail program, so these messages are automatically sent to a folder or deleted. The courtesy notices can be identified by their subject line:
Library Reminder – Items Due in 2 Days

If you remove your e-mail address from your record, you won’t get any notices by e-mail.

Your Library Account — More on logging in to your library record. You need a PIN to access your account, and to protect your privacy you must present identification and request a PIN at your library.
