The Lynn Public Library is now open by appointment!!! Patrons can book appointments to browse the Adult, Young Adult, and Children’s collections, or use our computers and other resources. Select the “Book an Appointment” button below for full details.

We will continue to offer curbside pick-up of items and our staff is happy to help patrons by phone or email.

Lynn Census Forms

The Library is currently not accepting Lynn Census forms. Forms can be brought to City Hall and be put in the Johnson St. entrance drop box. Please contact the Lynn Election office at 781-598-4000 with any questions.

Do you need a library card? Did you have a library card but lost it? The Lynn Public Library is happy to help!

Apply for a temporary Lynn Public Library card now, just complete this form. A confirmation email containing your library card number will be sent to you within 48 hours and you will be able to access your account and our online resources right away! Welcome to the Lynn Public Library


The staff of the Lynn Public Library is dedicated to serving the needs of a diverse population whose interests range from scholarly research to cultural pursuits to entertainment. The Library encourages an environment where its patrons may inform, educate, and enlighten themselves. Our collection numbers almost 125,000 volumes, with over 30,000 in the Children’s Department alone. The large Reference collection is known for its emphasis on Lynn history, genealogy, the Civil War, business and law. The Circulation Department keeps current with all the best sellers.

The Lynn Public Library is one of 28 area libraries that make up the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE).
