Shetterly, Will. Elsewhere

Will Shetterly has written a fantastic novel of magic, sci-fi, and punk rock. Imagine a place where magic and technology mix with some very interesting results. A place where elves, humans, and the crossbreed halfies intermingle in a sometimes hostile environment. Then throw in the fact that this place is run by gangs of wild teens. Welcome to Bordertown, the setting of Elsewhere. A place located between the human world and the Elflands. Bordertown is a place for teens to start a new life on their own. Teens from both sides of the border. Will Shetterly has successfully mixed modern teenage life with magic and fantasy. The book is very well written and most enjoyable.

The book's target audience is teenagers. The novel allows kids to imagine themselves in the magic city, running wild and having a blast. I believe any teenager would love reading this book. Younger kids may enjoy it but due to some of the language and themes I would not recommend it to kids under the age of eleven.

If you enjoyed this also read: NeverNever by Will Shetterly, The Finder by Emma Bull, and The Essential Bordertown, an anthology.
