A Love to Die For: Mysteries featuring Husband and Wife Teams

Husband and wife detective teams have been popular for a long time, in fact one of the first successful duos was Dashiell Hammett's Nick and Nora Charles of The Thin Man which later became a series of movies based on that one mystery.

Often one member of the marriage, the husband, is in law enforcement or a private eye and his wife is an amateur who just happens to be clever, relentlessly curious, and brave. This fashionable characterization takes the place of the commonplace Dr. Watson figure.

The more modern duos reside in grittier pages like Faye Kellerman's Rina Lazurus and Peter Decker, but most husband and wife teams fit easily into the cozy genre.
