The Rental Collections were started by the Friends of Beebe Library to provide audio and videocassettes and additional copies of popular bestselling books. The small rental fee for these items allows the Friends to continue to replenish these popular collections.

Rental items circulate at a cost of $1.00 per week. You may keep them more than one week, but will be charged $1.00 for each week you have them. The first dollar is paid when you first check out the item. We use the honor system for our rentals, so when returning rental items you've kept longer than a week, please tell the staff so we can calculate the appropriate charge.

There is always at least one "free" circulating copy of popular fiction and nonfiction books. Because we often have waiting lists for these titles, you may wish to take a rental instead in order to get the book immediately.

The audio and videocassette collections include both fiction and non-fiction titles. Fiction audiotapes and feature films are rentals, charged the usual fee. There is no fee for any nonfiction audiotape or video title.
