- OCLC – Catalogs of major libraries in the U. S.
- Massachusetts Special Collections Directory – A guide and locater for special collections residing in Massachusetts libraries, archives, historical societies and town clerk’s offices.
- Virtual Catalog Patron log-in – The Virtual Catalog will let you request items from other Massachusetts libraries if they are not available in NOBLE libraries.
- Reference USA — The No. 1 source of information on businesses for researchers, students and job seekers.
- Chilton’s — Automotive and light truck repair information.
- HeritageQuest — Federal Census images from 1790 – 1930 and other information for genealogists. The Library also subscribes to Ancestry.com, a rich source of genealogical information. Due to licensing restrictions, this resource is available only at the library.
- Novelist –A guide to fiction that includes book reviews, author read-alikes, book discussion guides, booktalks, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles.
- Literary Reference Center – Critiques of authors and their works.
- NextReads – A monthly e-mail newsletter service which will send you great book suggestions by email.
- Overdrive – A site that lets you download audiobooks to your PC and then transfer them to your MP3 player, IPod, or CD.
These sources provide instant access to articles from popular magazines, scholarly journals, encyclopedias, newspapers, and more. You will be asked to enter your library card number when logging in to these resources.
- EBSCOHost Research Databases – This link provides access to many EBSCO databases. Click on MasterFile Premier for a good general starting point.
- InfoTrac – This link provides access to many InfoTrac databases. Click on General OneFile for another good starting point.
- eLibrary – Information from books, magazines, and newspapers. Also includes maps, pictures, and transcripts from TV and radio.
- Gale Virtual Reference Library – A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference books.
- Massachusetts History Online – Contains full-text articles gathered from almost 50 sources that directly relate to MA history.
- MassAnswers – Need answers when the Library is not open? Try this “Ask A Librarian” service.
These databases include articles written by staff journalists but not materials such as stock reports, classifieds, or advertisements.
- Kids Search – Easy searching for kids in grades K – 8.
- Kids InfoBits – Easy searching for kids in grades K – 5.
- Middle Search Plus – Articles for middle and junior high school research.
- Infotrac Junior – Articles for middle school students covering current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.
- Student Edition – Research articles for High School students.
- EBSCO Animals – In-depth information on the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
- ¡Informe!(Revistas en Español)™ — Indexing, full text, and images of popular Hispanic magazines, and full text pamphlets on a variety of topics, such as health care.
