OCTOBER HAPPENINGS

Read for the Record

Read for the Record.
Join us on Thursday, October 2 as we join in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign, designed to bring attention to the importance of early education. This year’s title is the classic Corduroy by Don Freeman. We will have a special program at 10:30 a.m. when we will read Corduroy and A Pocket for Corduroy and create a related craft.

By encouraging hundreds of thousands of children and adults to read the same book on the same day, Jumpstart aims to break a world record and to make early education a national priority. Children and adults will read together at events nationwide on October 2, in schools, libraries, stores, hotels, playgrounds, offices, and homes. For more information about Jumpstart check out their website at
