Library Closure: Books
NOBLE Libraries
If you have a PIN, you can find books at NOBLE
libraries and request delivery to a NOBLE library near you. If you have
not already obtained a PIN from Salem State Library Circulation, and
you have a local public library card at a NOBLE library, you may get
one by going in person to your public library. A list of NOBLE libraries
is available here http://www.noblenet.org/.
Step by step directions for using your PIN to find books (NOBLE)
1. You must request your PIN in person. Go to your local NOBLE library.
2. If you already have a PIN from the Salem State Library: locate the
library barcode on the back of your ClipperCard (14-digits starting
with 21506). If you have a PIN from your local public library, locate
the barcode on your library card.
3. Go to Salem State Library's
home page. Locate Research (middle frame).
4. Click on Find Books and More, under Research. Click
on Library Catalog.
5. Search the online catalog for books. Select the View Entire Collection
option from the drop down menu. Select one of the options (keyword,
title, subject, or author). Enter your search terms and click on the
search button. Click on Find It to learn which library owns the
title, and see its status. The record will include a due date, if the
item is checked out.
6. To request a book, click on the Request button at the top of the
page. Enter your barcode and PIN in the appropriate spaces. Choose the
public library location where you want your items delivered.
