    Julia Child at the Library

    The Delvena Theatre Company will be presenting Meet Julia Child! at the Saugus Public Library, 295 Central Street, Saugus, on Tuesday, September 9, at 6:30 PM.

    Meet Julia Child is a live performance featuring “Julia Child” doing what she did best. The audience will learn about her life and have the opportunity to view “Julia” on the set of The French Chef, an amusing and fun experience. After the performance, the cast will open up for discussion regarding Julia Child.

    This is a free program but space is limited. Please drop by or call the library at 781.231.4168 to register. Bon Appetit!


    New Friends Founders' Day Book Sale

    Join us for the annual Founders' Day Book Sale at the Library.

    The sale will be held on September 6 from 9 - 3 pm in the Community Room at the library.

    The library welcomes your donations of newer, gently used books. Please no reference books, magazines or VHS tapes.

    Saugus Digital Documents are Accessible on the Internet Archive

    The Internet Archive is an online collection of internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. The Archive preserves the originals while making them available at the click of a mouse.

    There are some fascinating records to be found. To step back in history, try a search of the "Records of Ye Towne Meetings of Lyn 1771" for "British".

    High School Yearbooks, Annual Reports, Lists of Persons and other Town Documents are also available.

    Most of the Middle School Yearbooks are now online at the Archive!

    The project was Federally funded through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Scanning was done by the Digital Services Department of the Boston Public Library. All documents will eventually reside on the Digital Commonwealth.


    Resume Assistance



    Are you looking for a job? If you would like some help in making your resume look more attractive to potential employees, draft a cover letter or just want someone to proofread your resume and cover letter, you can schedule an appointment with a staff member at the Saugus Public Library on Monday or Tuesday evenings, 4-7 p.m. to help you. Call the Reference Department at 781-231-4168 ext. 16 to schedule a time. Please bring your resume with you at the time of your appointment.

    The Board of Trustees has recently adopted the Library Bill of Rights, which affirms that all libraries are forums for information and ideas.

    New Friends of the Saugus Public Library



    The New Friends of the Saugus Public Library will be meeting the first Wednesday of every month, September through June.

    Museum Passes





    The library has passes to the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Science,the Museum of Fine Arts, the Peabody Essex Museum and Zoo New England.

    Did you know the Library offers Home Delivery?

    The library delivers materials to homebound Saugus residents. Books, audio-books, magazines, music and DVDs are all available. If you are unable to get to the library, either temporarily or permanently and would like delivery, please contact the library to request this free service or to learn more about it.
