Friends Fundraising Efforts

The Friends of the Saugus Public Library sponsor two book sales a year. The Annual Sale is run on a Saturday in June that corresponds to the Historical Society’s Strawberry Festival. The Founders’ Day Sale takes place the Saturday after Labor Day and runs during the Saugus Founders’ Day festivities. The Friends also have an ongoing sale on a cart in the Library Lobby and in the Community Meeting Room. The proceeds from these book sales help the Friends provide programming throughout the year, especially during the Children’s Summer Reading Program.

The Friends also have a Sale Cart in the Lobby providing Library Book Bags, Mouse Pads, Bookmarks, Note Cards, Postcards, and Wine Glasses- all with distinctive Saugus Public Library logos and images. The cart was a gift from the Kelleher Family Foundation.

The Friends of the Library are also offering Book Pins by Lucinda for sale to help support Library programming. The pins are hand crafted and no two pins are exactly alike. Lucinda creates pins to raise awareness for many social causes and to support local non-profit organizations in their fund raising efforts. The pins are $15.00 each, $13.50 for Friends members. Purchasing and wearing a Library Book pin demonstrates your support for the Saugus Public Library and its services. Pins are on display in the Lobby. Choose from several colorful designs.

In addition to these book sales and Friends Store items, the Friends of the Library participate in the GE Matching Gift Program. Each year, the Friends conduct an annual appeal to GE Employees and Retirees in and around Saugus who use and love the Library.
