John Phillips to Samuel Phillips Correspondence, 1771

This letter from John Phillips (founder of Phillips Exeter Academy) to his nephew Samuel Phillips (founder of Phillips Academy Andover) not only demonstrates the amicable relationship between the two men, but it also provides some insight regarding the danger of smallpox in the 18th century.
