Academic integrity is a phrase that you hear over and over again here at Andover. But what does it really mean? How do you know when you’ve strayed from the straight and narrow? Everything feels like a remix in the digital age with so much available online and the ease of copy/paste. What does “original work” even mean anymore? It’s an academic integrity quagmire. However, we all know that academic integrity violations are strictly enforced and penalized at PA. So what should you do?
You should attend a workshop on just this topic and talk it through! And there is one going on here at the OWHL on Monday evening!
Please join us Monday, November 9th, from 5:45 to 7pm in the Dole Room for an interactive session all on academic integrity. Dr. Vidal, English instructor and co-director of the Brace Center for Gender Studies, and Ms. Pei, World Languages & Global Studies Librarian, will work with you on case scenarios that will help you recognize what plagiarism really is and how to prevent it.
This workshop is designed for international students but all are welcome to attend. Please contact Sharon Pei at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
