Please join the OWHL and the Girls’ Cross Country team (GXC) tomorrow, September 14th, at 4:30 pm in the Children’s Area of the OWHL to honor the life and work of beloved children’s author Anna Dewdney, ’83, P’09. Anna passed away last week from brain cancer. In lieu of a funeral, she asked that people read to children and tomorrow’s event is aimed at honoring that wish. This event is open to all members of the PA community.
We hope to celebrate Anna’s life by having current members of the GXC read a number of Anna’s books, as well as send words of sympathy and strength to Anna’s daughter, Berol Dewdney, ’09 (Berol was captain of GXC in 2008). We also hope to take a community photo with some of Anna’s books to send to Berol and her family. You can read more about Anna’s amazing work, and legacy here.
If you are unable to attend tomorrow’s event, but would like to send a note, drawing or photo to Berol, please contact Becky Hession (email@example.com).
