Please join us on Wednesday, April 20th at 7pm for a NestED talk by Sampriti Bhattacharyya, founder of Hydroswarm, an underwater drone intelligence platform.
Hydroswarm aims to be the Google Maps of the ocean. 70% of the world is oceans, of which less than 5% is explored. That is less than the moon’s surface! Hydroswarm aims to change that with football-sized drones, dubbed Eve. Applications for Eve drones could include oil and gas monitoring, environmental exploration and mapping, and defense. Hydroswarm was a winner at last year’s MassChallenge startup competition and a finalist for MIT $100K, an entrepreneurship competition.
Bhattacharyya pitched the idea of Hydroswarm at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2015. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. She will speak about entrepreneurship, robot design, and issues surrounding research and technology in developing countries.

NestED, the OWHL Makerspace’s speaker series, invites makers, educators, artists, and innovators to come speak at the Nest, demo their projects, and provide inspiration. All members of the Phillips Academy community – students, faculty, and staff – are invited to attend.
