Have you read (or viewed, or listened to) anything AWESOME lately?
Most of us get our reading recommendations from our friends. That’s pretty easy here at PA, since this is a community of avid readers. The annual summer reading list “Craig’s List” always has a lot of great suggestions, but that list only comes out once a year, and that is a long time to wait. So the OWHL, in collaboration with our good friends at the Harvard Library Innovation Lab, has just introduced the AWESOME Box, and an accompanying website.
To let everyone know that something you borrowed from our collection was awesome, all you have to do is to return it to the special box “The AWESOME Box” located right next to the book return in the OWHL. You don’t need to write a review or in any way defend your choice. Your name will not be associated with your recommendation.
The website displays all of the materials that are returned to the Awesome Box, in the categories of “Recently Awesome” and “Most Awesome.” Books are promoted to the second category when they receive several votes. You can browse all awesome materials, or limit you view to just books, movies, or music CDs by selecting one of the icons to filter the results. It is easy, and fun. And a great place to get reading recommendations.
