Print and Electronic Periodicals :
The library subscribes to a number of periodicals in print. These are
located in the Periodicals Room on the second floor of the library. There
are also many full-text electronic journals available in the library's
online databases. For a complete list of the library's periodicals holdings
in both formats, go to Journal
Finder. Here, you can search by title or subject for all print and
full-text electronic periodical holdings.
You can search for a particular periodical by title in the McQuade
Library Catalog.

from approximately 2,000 journals, book/media reviews, and dissertations.
Historical Abstracts covers the history of the world from 1450
to the present (excluding the US and Canada).

explores a single "hot" issue in the news in depth each week.
Topics range from social issues to global issues such as terrorism,
foreign aid, environment, and science and technology.
- EBSCOhost's
Academic Search Premier provides full-text for over 1,250
journals and indexes more than 2,700 covering all academic disciplines.
It also includes US Department of State Background Notes that
present demographic data on countries of the world including geography,
people, and government.

GMID Passport Reference
This database includes country profiles & briefings, future demographic reports, consumer lifestyles reports and international consumer statistics. Useful to students of economics, sociology and political science as well as international business.

Online contains the complete Encyclopedia Americana
and the Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia. Use these resources
for introductory or background information as well as maps and flags
of countries.

Expanded Academic ASAP provides access to information across
all academic disciplines indexed in over 2,000 periodicals. Some full-text.
- LexisNexis
Academic
in the Reference section you will find the Country
Profiles database which contains concise facts and statistics about
countries. This information is from publications such as World Factbook,
Direction of Trade Statistics Yearbook, and International Financial
Statistics Yearbook.
- Mergent
Online
Financial information, including data on US and international companies, and an archive of domestic and international annual reports.
- eLibrary contains information from books, magazines, and newspapers. Includes maps, pictures, and transcripts from TV and radio. Click on the "Topics" tab for a subject directory which includes Governments of Nations, Countries of the World, and more.
