Billing Policy

This billing policy applies to all items due on or after 7/1/11. Items due prior to that date are subject to this policy.

Merrimack College Students

Notices

Provided an email address is on file, students will receive a total of 5 notices prior to being billed.

The first 2 notices are courtesy notices and are emailed prior to the item's due date.

The second 3 notices are overdue notices and are emailed following an item's due date.

Bill

If materials remain overdue for a month, then a bill is issued.

Patrons with an email address on file will receive the bill through their email.

Patrons without an email address will receive the bill through campus mail or regular mail.

Fees

No overdue fines are collected.

Patrons are charged $50.00 per item for all items that have entered billed status. If items are not returned after a bill is issued, the bursar may be notified.

All charges will be reversed provided the items are returned within a reasonable amount of time or as indicated on the bill notice.

NOBLE and Other Non-Merrimack Patrons

Notices

Provided an email address is on file, patrons will receive a total of 5 notices prior to being billed.

The first 2 notices are courtesy notices and are emailed prior to the item's due date.

The second 3 notices are overdue notices and are emailed following an item's due date.

Bill

If materials remain overdue for a month, then a bill is issued.

Patrons with an email address on file will receive the bill through their email.

Patrons without an email address will receive the bill through regular mail.

Fees

No overdue fines are collected.

Patrons are charged $50.00 per item for all items that have entered billed status. Until the fee is paid or the item is returned, borrowing privileges at all NOBLE libraries will be suspended.

All charges will be reversed provided the items are returned before June 1st of the fiscal year the bill was issued in (fiscal years run July-June). After June 1st, refunds will be considered on a case by case basis.
