This is a free service that is provided by TCE (Tax Counseling for the Elderly) volunteers using electronic filing for rapid refunds. The service is available for all ages with incomes under $60,000 and no rental incomes. Tax preparation for clients with mutual fund & brokerage statements begins in March. The volunteers will do circuit breaker requests; please bring the assessed value on your home, the amount of taxes paid and the water bill. Proof of health insurance is now required; please bring Form MA 1099-HC and your health insurance cards. The tax aides will not do Schedule C, E, a complicated Schedule D (more than 10 trades), small businesses with employees, or anyone with a second home.
