Lynnfield Public Library

The Library provides free and/or reduced admission to several museums in Boston and the North Shore area thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Lynnfield Library.  Museum passes may be reserved at the Library Circulation Desk, over the phone (781.334.5411), or through the Library website.  We suggest that you reserve a pass a few weeks in advance to ensure availability, though you may also “walk-in” to see what is still available that day.

To reserve museum passes online, scroll down the main page of the website until you see the box on the left with the heading “Reserve Museum Passes from Home”.  In this box, you may choose to browse available passes by museum or by date– simply click on the appropriate text.  Follow the steps until you receive the confirmation that your reservation is complete.  A member of our staff would be happy to assist you with this process in person or over the phone.

Please notify the library immediately if you will be unable to use a reserved pass or might need to change the date of your visit.  Patrons who neglect to pick up their museum passes may be temporarily banned from reserving museum passes.  Passes must be picked up by 12:00 noon on the day of your reservation or they may be given to another patron who is waiting to use it.

All passes are loaned for 1 day except the ParksPass, which is loaned for 2 days.  Barcoded passes must be returned promptly so that they are ready for the next patron who needs them.  There is a $1.00 per day fine for late passes.  Disposable paper passes are collected by the museums and do not need to be returned to the Library.

The Boston Children’s Museum helps families and children from
ages 0-10 to enjoy, understand, and become active members in the world.
Our pass admits up to four individuals with a surcharge of $6.00 per
person (a potential savings of $24.00!).

The Harvard Art Museums include the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger, and
Arthur M. Sackler Museums.  Our pass admits two individuals free of
charge (a potential savings of $18.00!).

Historic New England maintains 36 unique historic properties
and aims to preserve, interpret, and collect buildings, landscapes, and objects
reflecting New England life from the 17th century to the present.  Our pass admits one
individual free of charge (savings varies depending on the chosen site).

The House of the Seven Gables exposes visitors to 330 years of
Salem history through its museum and collection of historic buildings (including
the house where Nathaniel Hawthorne was born).  Our pass admits up to four individuals
with a surcharge of $6.25 per person (a potential savings of $25.00!).

The Institute of Contemporary Art champions creativity in all its forms–
visual art, performance, music, film and video– and supports the artistic impulse
to cross boundaries, challenge convention, and explore new forms of expression.  Our

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum houses an art collection of world
importance, from paintings and sculpture to tapestries and decorative arts– all in the
setting of a 16th century Venetian palace.  Our pass admits up to four individuals with
a surcharge of $5.00 (a potential savings of $40.00!).

The Museum of Fine Art, Boston is one of the most comprehensive art museums
in the world, with a collection of nearly 450,000 works of art from Ancient Egyptian
to contemporary.  Our pass admits up to two individuals with a $7.00
surcharge(a potential savings of $30.00!).

The Museum of Science, Boston features a revolving schedule of IMAS films,
temporary exhibitions and planetarium shows, as well as ongoing science exhibits and
electricity shows.  Our pass admits up to four people with a $7.00
surcharge (a potential savings of $60.00!).

The ParksPass can be hung on the rearview mirror of your vehicle to allow free
access at over 50 facilities in the Massachusetts State Parks system
(with regular charges of $2.00 to $9.00 per vehicle).

The Peabody Essex Museum is the country’s oldest continuously-operating museum,
showcasing maritime and New England art and architecture, Native American artifacts, and
treasures collected from all over the world.  Our pass admits up to two individuals with a surcharge of $5.00 per person (a potential savings of $20.00!).

The USS Constitution Museum brings the story of our nation’s oldest
commissioned ship to life.  Our pass admits up to nine individuals free of
charge (a potential savings of $45.00!).

Zoo New England includes the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham.
Our pass admits up to two adults and four children with a surcharge of $2.00
per person (a potential savings of $60.00!).
