The Lynnfield Village Garden Club and the Lynnfield Art Guild present “Art in Bloom” featuring floral interpretations by Garden Club members and local professional florists of original art work provided by the Lynnfield Art Guild members.

The opening reception will be this Monday, March 8, 2010 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Three professional floral arrangements donated by Botticelli’s, Gould’s and Gregory’s will be raffled off to some lucky winners!

Curious About Cuisine Meeting March 10- Irish Cuisine: It’s More Than Just Potatoes!

Irish roots run deep in America, especially in and around Boston. In time for St. Patrick’s Day, Curious about Cuisine will be discussing “Irish Cuisine: It’s More Than Just Potatoes!” We will be meeting on Wednesday, March 10 from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Green Room. We will challenge the powerful myth that Irish food is based mainly on the lowly potato by digging into the history of Irish food. Centuries-old culinary foundations unique to Ireland anchor much of modern-day Irish fare, and you will be pleasantly surprised at just how sophisticated this cuisine can be. Bring in your favorite Irish recipes, recommendations, and stories, and plan to leave with some ideas for injecting a bit o’ Ireland into your culinary repertoire!

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday March 2

Nancy Ryan has been appointed the new Library Director. She has been serving as Interim Library Director since September 2008. Congratulations, Nancy! The community and staff are so pleased to have such a dedicated person running the Library.

If you like listening to audiobooks, take a look at this new library service! You can browse through a collection of audiobooks including fiction and nonfiction for adults, teens and children, check them out with your library card, and download them for two weeks. You can listen to the books on your PC, or transfer them to an MP3 player. Some titles can also be burned to a CD.
