If so, the Library will be accepting food donations in lieu of money on accumulated library fines from <strong>Monday, November 16, 2009</strong> through <strong>Monday, January 4, 2010</strong>.</p>
<p>Patrons will receive $2.00 off any overdue fines for every food item donated. Boxed cereals, canned fruit and vegetables are each worth $4.00. There is a particular need this year for canned fish and meats, rice, beans, peanut butter, canned pineapple, and diapers. All donations will support Haven for Hunger in Peabody. Please do not bring in any perishable or expired items.</p>
<p>Last year, the Library collected over 1,000 food items. To participate, please bring all food donations to the Lynnfield Public Library. Certain restrictions apply. Food donations will not be accepted for non-Lynnfield fines or DVD/Video late fees. For more information please call 781.334.5411. Thank you very much for your generosity!</p>

<p>Join Yetti Frenkel on <strong>Monday, November 16 </strong>from <strong>2:30 p.m. </strong>to <strong>4:30 p.m. </strong>for a haiku and card-making workshop.</p>
<p>Participants create haiku poetry and illustrate their poem in a folding card. One hour is spent on learning the haiku form, exploring simile and metaphor as inspiration for writing poetry, and writing and editing a poem. In the second hour, participants will create a card that illustrates their haiku poem. Ms. Frenkel will cover visual arts topics such as design, illustration techniques and materials.</p>

<p>The theme of the first lecture, taking place <strong>Tuesday, November 3</strong>, is &#8220;Everybody&#8217;s Favorite Russian Composer: Tchaikovsky&#8221;.</p>
