Welcome to the Lynn Public Library
The staff of the Lynn Public Library is dedicated to serving the needs of a diverse population whose interests range from scholarly research to cultural pursuits to entertainment. The Library encourages an environment where its patrons may inform, educate, and enlighten themselves. Our collection numbers almost 125,000 volumes, with over 30,000 in the Children's Department alone. The large Reference collection is known for its emphasis on Lynn history, genealogy, the Civil War, business and law. The Circulation Department keeps current with all the best sellers.
The Lynn Public Library is one of 28 area libraries that make up the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE).

Watch as Gary Morrison portrays legendary WWII journalist Ernie Pyle in a one man show Friday, August 14, at 10:00 am in the Smith Fiction Room. This is an inspiring event about a man who helped write history
Blast off this summer with the Lynn Public Library's Summer Reading Program. This program is for children and teen age birth to 16 years old. Read over the summer and log your time. When completed, turn your logs in and receive a certificate of achievement and prize. Registration begins Wednesday June 24th. Visit the library to register and receive your free reading packet which includes a book bag, log, pencil, bookmark and calendar of events. Looking for something fun to do with family or friends? The library offers discounted passes to 9 area museums and attractions. Just choose the Museum Pass Program button from the website menu on the left and follow the prompts.

Free digital audio books! Overdrive is a new service that lets you download audio books to your PC or transfer to a WMA compatible MP3 player.
If you like listening to audio books, take a look at this new library service! You can browse through a collection of audio books including fiction and nonfiction for adults, teens and children, check them out with your library card, and download them for two weeks. After you download the audio book, you can listen to it on your PC, or transfer it to an MP3 player. Some titles can also be burned to a CD.
