Friends of the Lynn Public Library
Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the Lynn Public Library is a non-profit organization formed in 1982 to help preserve and strengthen the libraries in Lynn and to create awareness and appreciation of the many and varied services offered by this registered historic institution.
What do the Friends do?
Educational and cultural programs for adults and children, equipment purchases and fundraising to supplement the Library's municipal budget are among the activities sponsored by the Friends of the Lynn Public Library.
Executive Board of the Friends:
- President – Francis H. Hannaway
- 1st Vice-President – Maria Garuti
- 2nd vice-president – Clorinda Bettencourt
- Secretary – Jean Milmore
- Treasurer – Maureen Benedict
- Members-at-Large – Mary Milmore and Joan Civiello
The Board meets each month and the public is invited.
Benefits of being a Friend
There are many benefits of being a Friend which include receiving a Friends Newsletter several times a year with information about what is going on at the library including programming, new services, equipment, etc.

Join us! Simply print out the membership form, fill it out and then bring it in to the library or mail it with your check.
1st Annual Family Fun Day
This event was sponsered by the Friends of the Lynn Public Library to raise funds for the purchase of new furniture for the Children's Room. Theresa Hurley, Head of the Children's Department, organized the event. Anyone who would like to make additional donations to the Friends should direct them to the Lynn Public Library at 5 North Common Street, Lynn, MA. Attn: Dr. F. H. Hannaway, President.
