Get a Library Card

It's easy to register for a library card. Just bring in some form of identification that shows both your name and address (driver's license, utility bill, etc.) and we will issue you a card. It only takes a few minutes. Your first card is free. If lost, there is a $1.00 replacement fee.

Dropoff boxes are available when the Library is closed. They are located in the front of the building (the North Common Side) and the side of the building at the Children door on the (Franklin street side).

InterLibrary Loans

If you are looking for particular title and it cannot be found in our Library, we have the service of borrowing other materials from other Libraries. The material(s) will be sent to our Library for your convenient pickup and return.

Meeting Room

Meeting Room at the Lynn Public Library

The Lynn Public Library has available to nonprofit organizations at no cost a Program Room (Smith Room). It is handicapped accessible, seating for 65 and has wireless internet capability for presentations and lectures, along with a projection screen.

Clients need to read the Meeting Room Policy, fill out the Meeting Room Application and fax or e-mail back to our Chief Librarian for approval and availability.

Patron Services From Home

The North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE) is offering patrons the ability to check their library account from home. Patrons are able to view a list of items checked out, renew items already checked out, view outstanding fines, view a list of items on hold, and place or cancel holds.

In order to access this new service, patrons need to type in their name, library card number and PIN. PIN's can be obtained at the Library at 5 North Common Street.

To request an item from home, go to the NOBLE Web Catalog section and search for the title you want. Then just click the REQUEST button on your screen.

Test Preparation Learning Express!!!

Your success is just a few minutes away. LearningExpress Library You will have online access at home to over 300 online practice exams and quizzes for standardized test preparation (SAT, GED, U.S. Citizenship, TOEFL, and much more). In addition, several basic skills products, are available with Spanish translation.

The only requirement to access this database is you have a valid Lynn Library Card.

Chilton Automotive

Thomson Gale Databases includes a variety of free online sources. The latest to our collection is Chilton. represents the most authoritative automotive repair information available to car owners. They cover the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years, plus additional coverage of specialty models. The Foreign cars will be added in December.
