The staff of the Lynn Public Library is dedicated to serving the needs of a diverse population whose interests range from scholarly research to cultural pursuits to entertainment. The Library encourages an environment where its patrons may inform, educate, and enlighten themselves. Our collection numbers almost 125,000 volumes, with over 30,000 in the Children’s Department alone. The large Reference collection is known for its emphasis on Lynn history, genealogy, the Civil War, business and law. The Circulation Department keeps current with all the best sellers.
The Lynn Public Library is one of 28 area libraries that make up the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE).
Register for the 2016 Children’s Summer Reading Program starting Monday, June 27th!!!
To register you must visit the library to receive your free Summer Reading Packet which includes; reading log, pencil, bookmark, book bag, and schedule of events.
Pre-school-K: Read or listen to 10 books or read for 10 hours.
Grades 1-5: Read 5-10 books/read for 10-20 hours. The title, author, and time spent reading should be noted in your reading log. When you have completed your logs, you will receive a certificate of achievement and prize. You will also receive free Topsfield Fair vouchers!
NEW THIS YEAR! The Knighs of Pythias and the Friends of the Lynn Public Library will be raffling off 10 bicycles for students entering grades 1 through 5 that COMPLETE the Summer Reading Program.
*Take on Mayor Kennedy’s Reading Incentive – Read an additional 5 books or read for an extra 10 hours and you will be invited to an ice cream smorgasbord party in Lynn City Hall, hosted by Mayor Kennedy on August 23rd at 5pm!
All completed logs must be returned by AUGUST 12th.
Registration for the 2016 Adult Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 27th!!! To register, simply visit the Main Desk and let us know you want to participate. After that, you may read any book(s) of your choosing. Fill out and submit a review for each book you complete. Each week, we will select a winner who will receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant. The more books you read/reviews you submit each week, the better your chances of winning!
