The large Reference collection is known for its emphasis on Lynn history, genealogy, the Civil War, business and law. The Circulation Department keeps current with all the best sellers.

What's New at the LPL

Supporting our Troops

The LPL staff is scheduled for a dress down day on Friday, May 23, just before Memorial Day weekend. Each staff member is making a donation for the privilege, and all money will be given to the Veteran's Office at Lynn City Hall. The Veteran's Office mails care packages to overseas troops, but they need donations to do so.

The Library staff invites patrons to participate that day by contributing to our library donation.
Friends Book Sale
The Friends of the Lynn Public Library will be holding a book sale Friday, May 30 from 2 to 4 pm on the grass by the Children's Room entrance. All items will be $1.00. Books, music CD's, books on tape and VHS movies will be included in the sale. Monthly sales are planned for the summer and fall, so keep watch for the dates.
Musical presentation by "Two Old Friends:

"Two Old Friends" will again travel down from Maine to share their songs of England, Ireland and the sea. This duo is always popular, and attracts a large crowd. The event is free and will be held in the handicapped Smith Room on Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 pm. Call 781-595-0567 x 105 to save a seat.
Mother Goose on the Loose at the Lynn Public Library
Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy program that uses rhymes and songs to help pre-reading children get ready for reading. It incorporates music, movement, ritual, repetition, and props into a fun-filled thirty minute session for children with their parent or caregiver.

The Lynn Public Library is pleased to offer this program several times weekly. Check our calendar for dates and times.

This program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the state of Massachusetts
