Martin Luther King, Jr., Day

Martin Luther King Day — This federal holiday celebrates the life and achievements of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., born on January 15, 1929.

Dr. King was an advocate of non-violent protest and the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was assassinated in Memphis on April 4, 1968.

Martin Luther King Day will be celebrated on Monday January 20th.
