That's great -- I'd love to talk to you more about this, and I'll e-mail you.

But here I want to note that since since this posting, I showed CardCow at a presentation called The Future of the Past : Digital Libraries in the Age of Social Software at the Massachusetts Digital Commonwealth conference.

I love the fact that you continue sharing the sold images, but what I really appreciate is how easy you make it for your visitors to share these postcards with others, and in so many ways -- as e-cards, and with the code for posting different sizes on blogs, in forums, etc. Of course, that's smart business because I'm sure it brings a lot of traffic back to your site, but it's something I have not seen on the sites of the Library of Congress, the National Archives, museums, etc.

Union Station, Worcester Mass. -- An example of how shareable the CardCow images are

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for the nice writeup.

I've tried to make CardCow a digital archive, not just postcard shop - which is why I leave sold images posted. I'm glad you find it useful.

I've worked with a number of libraries and historical groups around the country and I'm happy to provide watermark-free images to non-profit groups in most cases, as well as disconts on card purchases.

I'd be interested in talking to you about how libraries are getting their collections online.
