Food for Fines ends!

Do you have late fees at the Lynnfield Public Library from overdue books? If you would like, bring in non-perishable food donations between December 5, 2011 and January 20, 2012. The Library will be accepting food donations in lieu of money on accumulated library fines in our annual “Food for Fines” campaign. Some restrictions do apply.

For most items, patrons will receive $1.00 off overdue fines for each item donated. Items with the highest demand are canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, peanut butter, soups, pastas, and baby food. Patrons will receive $4.00 off their fines for every box of cereal, package of diapers or container of baby formula they donate. We cannot accept any expired or perishable items so please check the expiration dates on the cans and packages. All donations support Haven for Hunger, a local organization that serves residents of Peabody, Salem, and Lynnfield.
