Foreign Film - Le Concert. Fired thirty years ago for hiring Jewish musicians, Andrei Filipov, former conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra, is now a janitor. He learns the Chatelet Theater in Paris has invited the Bolshoi to be their guest orchestra. He gathers his former musicians instead. And, for reasons we don’t understand, wants the young violinist virtuoso, Anne-Marie Jacquet,to be the accompanist. This wonderful film swings from broad farce and socio/political silliness to a deeply moving finale.
