Murder Mystery Monday. Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surêté du Québec is called to the scene of a suspicious death in rural country south of Montreal. A woman has been found dead. The locals are certain it's a tragic hunting accident, but Gamache is certain the woman died at the hands of someone sinister. Still Life introduces the engaging hero, Inspector Gamache, a man of integrity and quiet courage, and the talented writer of traditional mysteries, Louise Penny. Babette, a Parisienne refuge from the mid 19th century wars, is cook to austere spinsters in a frugal and religious Danish village. When her fortunes change, she offers the community a sensuous celebration of good food and wine.
