Get a PIN at the BHCC Library!

What is a PIN?
PIN stands for Personal Identification number. With your own PIN you can use any PC with an Internet connection to view and update your personal library account, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.

What can I do with my PIN?
With your PIN you will be able to view the status of any materials checked out to you, make a request that any item within the NOBLE online catalog be sent to you, and renew materials right from your keyboard. This means that, among other things, you can renew your books and make Interlibrary Loan requests online from your home.

How do I get a PIN?
Go to the Circulation Desk at the Library and ask for your PIN. You will fill out a short registration form and a library staff member will give you the PIN. We will enter the number into your record, but it will be immediately coded so that no one, including library staff, will be able to see your PIN at any time. You also can change your PIN at any time, and we recommend that you change the number that you are first given to something that will be simple for you to remember.

How do I use my PIN once I have it?
Enter our online catalog. If you are not in the library you can reach the catalog at:http://catalog.noblenet.org/search~S37/. On the first catalog screen there is a link called My Account on the left of the blue bar at the top of the screen. If you follow this link, you will be asked to type in your complete 14-digit library barcode number (found on the back of your BHCC ID card) and PIN number. After that you should see your personal information along with the current status of any library material checked out to you or being processed in your name.

Help! I've lost my PIN. What should I do?
Go to the Circulation Desk in the Library and fill out a PIN registration form. The original number is in your record, but it is encoded so that no one will be able to tell you the number. If you lose your PIN or forget what it is, stop by the library and a new PIN will be issued to you at no charge.

Once you have your PIN, keep it confidential. The number is for you to use to see your own library account information. Don't tell anyone else your PIN or give anyone else access to it. If you believe that other persons may be using your PIN, inform library staff immediately.
