BIBLIOGRAPHIC INDEX

A subject list of bibliographies in both English and foreign languages, which contain 40 or more bibliographic citations. Bibliographies published as books and pamphlets or appearing as parts of books and pamphlets are included. In addition approximately 1,900 periodicals are regularly examined for bibliographic material.

BIOGRAPHY INDEX

A guide to biographical material appearing in approximately 1,900 periodicals, current books of individual and collective biography, obituaries of national interest published in the New York Times.

BOOK REVIEW DIGEST

An index to reviews of current fiction and non-fiction books appearing in more than 70 periodicals and journals. It lists over 6,000 books a year. Each book is entered by author, with price, publisher, descriptive note, and citations for all reviews. There are excerpts from as many reviews as are necessary to reflect the balance of critical opinion. There is also a title and subject index.

BOSTON GLOBE INDEX

A subject index giving references to date, section, page and column with cross references to related topics. Brief synopses of articles answer some questions without reference to the paper itself. Good for local and regional news.

BUSINESS PERIODICALS INDEX

A cumulative subject index to approximately 170 periodicals in the fields of accounting, advertising and public relations, automation, banking, communications, economics, finance and investments, insurance, labor, management, marketing, taxation, and specific business, industries and trades. (Replaced Industrial Arts Index in 1958)

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR INDEX

A subject index giving references to date, section, page and column with cross references to related topics. Brief synopses of articles answer some questions without reference to the paper itself. Good for critical analyses of world affairs.

CUMULATIVE INDEX TO NURSING & ALLIED HEALTH LITERATURE

An author and subject index to new books, dissertations and articles in over 330 nursing, allied health and biomedical journals including health education, occupational and physical therapy, social service, management, behavioral science and education.

CURRENT BIOGRAPHY

Biographical articles to contemporary figures including an alphabetical index of names and a classification of names by profession.

EDUCATION INDEX

A cumulative author subject index to approximately 240 educational periodicals, proceedings, yearbooks, bulletins, and monographic series published in the English language. Subject areas indexed include administration, pre-school, elementary, secondary, higher and adult education, teacher education, counseling and guidance, curriculum and curriculum materials. Subject fields indexed include the arts, applied science and technology, audiovisual education, business education, comparative and international education, exceptional children and special education, health and physical education, languages and linguistics, mathematics, psychology and mental health, religious education, social studies, and educational research relative to the areas and fields indexed.

ESSAY & GENERAL LITERATURE INDEX

An author subject index to collections of essays and works of a composite nature that have reference value in many areas of knowledge, particularly in the humanities and social sciences. Literary criticism is especially emphasized. Authors of every age and nationality are included although only twentieth century publications are indexed.

GENERAL SCIENCE INDEX

A subject index to articles and book reviews found in over 113 journals including the fields of astronomy, atmospheric science, biology, botany, chemistry, earth science, environment, nutrition, genetics, mathematics, medicine and health, microbiology, oceanography, physics, physiology and zoology.

HUMANITIES INDEX

One of two new indexes which supersedes Social Sciences and Humanities Index. An index of author and subject entries to periodicals in the fields of archeology, classical studies, area studies, folklore, history, language and literature, literary and political criticism, performing arts, philosophy, religion and theology, and related subjects. Includes 117 periodical titles indexed in the discontinued SSHI and 143 additional titles.

INTERNATIONAL INDEX TO PERIODICALS

Superseded in 1965 by SOCIAL SCIENCES & HUMANITIES INDEX.

INTERNATIONAL NURSING INDEX

Indexes over 270 nursing journals of international interest and 2,700 allied health and biomedical periodicals by subject and author/name.

READERS' GUIDE TO PERIODICAL LITERATURE

A cumulative author subject index to approximately 160 periodicals of general interest published in the United States. All important subject fields are included. Periodicals are selected on the basis of their general usefulness in reference work.

SHORT STORY INDEX

Indexes by author, titles and subject in one alphabet, some 60,000 stories in 4,320 collections published prior to 1949. Supplements continue the indexing through 1968.

A subject index giving references to date, section, page and column with cross references to related topics. Brief synopses of articles answer some questions without reference to the paper itself. Good sports coverage and for brief, descriptive coverage of world events.

WALL STREET JOURNAL INDEX

A subject index giving references to date, section, page and column with cross references to related topics divided into two volumes. Volume I includes corporate news and Baron's index. Volume II includes general news and closing Dow Jones Averages.
