The following is an annotated list of resource links being used by tutors and students in the Multi-Assistance Center and the Student Success Program at Bunker Hill Community College. This web page is a work in progress. Tutors and students routinely offer updates and changes in response to the needs of BHCC students. Workshop sessions are held from time to time to help students get the most out of their experiences using online resources. Take a look at the handouts from the most recent session to better understand some issues related to the use of online resources. The California State Librarians update links and create a site to help find quality information.
English as a Second Language ( selected sites for new language learners)

Supported by the Language Learning Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, this site is a good starting point for locating ESL learning resources on the web. It provides links to interactive listening and speaking sites, as well as sources for grammar and reading comprehension. The site also has an "ESL Teachers' Corner" with sites of interest to ESL instructors.

Offered by America Association for the Advancement of Science, it consists of links to glossaries or dictionaries from several scientific disciplines.

Math/Science Gateway
This Gateway provides links to resources in mathematics and science for educators and students in grades 9-12, although teachers of other levels may find these materials helpful. The Math & Science Gateway has won numerous awards and hopes to increase its success with input from internet community.

Paradigm Online Writing Assistant
Paradigm is an interactive, menu-driven, online writer's guide and handbook written in HTML and distributed freely over the WWW. Chuck Guilford who authored Paradigm Online Writing Assistant is presently an associate professor of English at Boise State University, where he teaches composition, creative writing, and literature.Math (Are you having a problem with a problem?)
AAA Math :The site offers help to sharpen basic math skills through interactive practicesand challenging games.
Calculator :Calculator.com offers a variety of calculators online. The scientific is probably the most useful. Be sure to use the mouse to select the numbers.
Discovery School's Webmath: this web site provides instant solutions for numerical problems in all math levels. Good to double check your work, and test your answers.
Langara College-Department of Mathematics and Statistics: offers simple explanations for some of the most common questions in upper level math (i.e. pre-calculus and above, as well as statistics). It features great links to other math websites.
Math Archives: is a collection of links that offer notes and tutorials for all math levels. Good place to start your search.
Math.com : great website offers clear explanations and practice in all levels of math. It also allows the students to test their knowledge with quizzes.
Mathslessons.co.uk: very cool site with games, and tutorials to help the student understand the basic ideas of math. It is ideal for basic math, and pre algebra students.
Mathworld: Offers help for different types of math. Site also offers help for Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics.
Visual Calculus: great site for understanding some of the confusing ideas of calculus. Animations and help with the graphing calculator are great.
