ACCESSING THE INTERNET AND LIBRARY REFERENCES

TO: The Job Connection Participants

FROM: The Bunker Hill Community College Library Staff

Re: Accessing the Internet and Library References

Attached is a brochure to give to you an idea of what the BHCC library has to offer. The Job Connection has a green BHCC Library User Card that you can use to borrow materials and check out free museum passes.

The library occupies the entire third floor of building E, which is centrally located on the Charlestown Campus of the college. We are easily accessible from the orange line "T". (Community College Stop)

1st stop....

The Reference Desk... When you enter the library, walk toward the back and sign in at the Reference Librarian's desk. Your visits should be comfortable and productive so let the library staff know what they can do to assist you.

The Computer...

Currently there are 17 computers in the public area connected to the Internet. You may sign up to use the computers in 1/2 hour sessions.

Help...

If you missed the Introductory Job connection Workshop , or are interested in learning how to access other information using the Internet in the future, feel free to attend one of our one-hour workshops on: Mondays-10:00am and 6:00pm, Tuesdays-9:00am and noon, and Thursdays- 11:00am and 3:00pm. Go to the Reference Desk about ten minutes before the session you plan to attend to check in and let the librarian know what kinds of things you want to focus on. Please remember that your instructors and library staff are here to help you, so please feel free to ask any questions during and after the workshops.

Workshop Graduates...

If you feel comfortable using the Internet an Reference Materials having attended the workshop, feel free to access the Reference Marerials and computers when you arrive. Make sure you choose a computer connected to a printer, since you are expected to print out career/job descriptions and leads. * Please see your instructor for dimes to print and make copies, as they are ten cents per sheet*
