11th Annual Teen Poetry Contest Reception & Awards Ceremony
Join us for a night of excitement and local poetry! On Monday, April 30th, starting at 7pm in the Sohier Room, the library will host a reception and awards ceremony for the Beverly Teen Poetry Contest held this winter. Prizes will be awarded and all 20 teen finalists will be asked to read their winning poems out loud. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Refreshments will be served; no registration is necessary.
Please contact Liz Manning, the YA librarian, with any questions at 978-921-6062.
Submissions Closed!
Thanks and best of luck to everyone who submitted something for the poetry contest. I haven't counted exactly how many entries we received yet, but to give you a general idea, we're talking a stack of paper about two inches thick! I'm so excited about the number of poems we got.
I did get a big batch of emails from Shore Country Day and Waring students over the last day with poems included, so unless you've gotten a message that the email bounced, or unless you hear from me about a specific problem opening your attachment, your poems should have been safely received!
Now comes the busy time for myself and the judges! We'll be sorting and reading for the next month, so stay tuned.
Thanks again - so much - for participating. You've all made my week!
~Liz
POETRY ENTRIES DUE!!
Hi all. Just a quick reminder to everyone who has been wanting to submit a poem for our Annual Teen Poetry Contest! If you haven't submitted yet, TODAY, MARCH 1ST, IS THE LAST DAY!
You can submit via the online forms you can find at
http://www.noblenet.org/beverly/teenlink/poetrycontest/ or email me directly at emanning@noblenet.org. You can also drop poems off in person at the library up until 9pm tonight!
We were having some technical difficulties this week with the non-resident submission form, but that appears to be fixed now, so submit away.
Get those poems in, people!
One again, good luck to everybody. :D
