Class Visits
The library welcomes class visits for students of all ages. Library staff will give library tours and instruct your students in the use of library resources. Contact Young Adult Librarian for Middle School and High School grades. Contact , Children's Librarian, for Elementary School grades.
Research Databases
The library has subscriptions to a number of online databases. These databases provide magazine articles and searchable information useful for students and teachers doing research. Features in the various databases include:
- Citations and/or full text magazine, journal and newspaper articles, such as those found in EBSCOhost and InfoTrac.
- Biographical information about famous people in all disciplines.
- Online encyclopedic entries.
- Maps and pictures.
- Transcripts from TV and radio.
- Our new databases, Ancestry Library (in library use only) and HeritageQuest Online, include such primary source documents as census records, immigration records, and other historical genealogical information. American Periodical Series Online includes digitized images of the pages of American magazines and journals published from colonial days to the beginning of the 20th century. The 19th Century Masterfile database provides indexes to journals published in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

- ERIC (available through EBSCOhost): The U.S. Department of Education Educational Resource Information Center database, contains citations and abstracts from educational and education-related journals.
- Professional Collection (available through InfoTrac): Full-text periodicals for teachers and school administrators.
- Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators: "A categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth."
