Notice to Our Rosetta Stone Users
We regret to tell you that the Beverly Public Library will no longer have access to Rosetta Stone after June 30, 2008. This is not by our choice; Rosetta Stone made the business decision to discontinue providing this resource to all public libraries as current subscriptions expire. We will be carrying more language audio materials, including downloadable e-audiobooks, for those of you involved in learning other languages. You might also want to check out Auralog, which is an online language learning program available through the Boston Public Library, or FSI Language Courses, or BBC Languages, which are available online. If you do not already have a Boston Public Library card, you may apply for one for free online to use Auralog.
We certainly regret this inconvenience to all our avid Rosetta Stone users, and wish to stress that it is a Rosetta Stone Company decision. For users wishing to contact Rosetta Stone regarding this decision, their toll free number is (800) 788-0822.
Support Our Bookmobile Fundraiser
Our current Bookmobile is in terrible disrepair and the city does not have the money to purchase a new one which will cost $125,000-$150,000. We need the entire community to help with this ambitious project! Stay tuned for news of our next fundraising event.
And you can still support our fundraiser in the meantime by bringing your returnable bottles and cans to the Beverly Bottle & Can Redemption Center at 54 West Dane Street in Beverly and asking that the money be donated to the Bookmobile fund.
If you would like to send in a donation, please make checks payable to the Friends of the Beverly Public Library. They can be mailed to the Library at 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA 01915. You can also donate online at Firstgiving.com.
The Beverly Public Library website is under construction.
We thank you for your patience with any errors.
